DEDICATED STAFF
"Our son has attended Pilgrim for 5 years and loves it more each year. He is 9 now and wants to be a counselor when he gets older."
SAFE ENVIRONMENT
Our enthusiastic, dedicated and loyal staff are the heart of our program, and provide a warm, happy, safe environment for our campers. We maintain a low camper to staff ratio in all groups. Each unit is staffed by a unit leader who is frequently a veteran staff member – often a certified teacher – senior counselor(s), age 17 and older; and assistant counselor(s), age 15 and older. All participate in an extensive pre-camp training program, which includes emergency procedures, safety, positive discipline techniques and leadership training. Children are supervised at all times. Our goal is for every child to feel welcome, cared for and respected.
COMPLIANCE, POLICIES, AND PROCEDURES
The camp complies with regulations of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, and is licensed by the local board of health. Parents may submit written requests for Pilgrim Day Camp’s policy regarding staff background checks, health care and discipline policies, procedures for filing grievances, as well as other policies and procedures.
