A note from the director:

Thank you for your interest in Pilgrim Day Camp!  We are proud of our program, which combines active play and sports, creativity, and community-building in a traditional outdoor setting.  Our camp provides children with a break from the pressures of school and extracurricular activities; a chance to spend summer exploring, making friends, and most of all, having fun.

This is Pilgrim Day Camp's 49th year of providing summers of fun

for children ages 3 through 13. We are located on 113 acres of fields and woods in Framingham.

Our grounds include extensive playing fields and athletic facilities,

rustic cabins, tents, and our exciting Project Adventure course.

Indoor facilities are available for special activities and inclement weather.

Our goal is to provide a fun and exciting summer for all our campers.

They will learn new skills and expand their creativity, and make new friends along the way.

The Staff

Our enthusiastic, dedicated and loyal staff are the heart of our program.  Many return year after year, providing continuity and mature, caring leadership.  This translates into a warm, happy, safe environment for our campers.  Many of our senior staff are professionals, and all staff participate in an extensive pre-camp training program which includes emergency procedures, safety positive discipline techniques and leadership training.

Pools: We offer two beautiful swimming pools. One pool has a diving section, a lap lanes, and a beginner pool. The other pool is strictly for non swimmers. The depth of this pool is from one to three feet. Children are tested the first day of a session and placed in levels appropriate to American Red cross standards. The children will enjoy daily morning swim lessons and a free swim each afternoon. The pool is staffed by certified instructors.

Family Swim Plan

  • Sign your children up for four sessions and receive a free family membership to our pool.
    • Monday - Friday   4:00 - 5:30
    • Saturday-Sunday  1:00-5:00

Health and Safety

The number one priority at Pilgrim Day Camp is SAFETY.

We keep the ratio of campers to staff members low at all times.

A full-time nurse is employed, and Program Directors

are given appropriate safety training in their specific areas.

The Program

Pilgrim Day Camp offers a varied and diverse program, meeting the needs of all our campers. Time is made available to campers to participate in non-scheduled special activities of their choice, such as additional sports or crafts, taking part in a play, or helping plan special theme days.

Units/Ages

Campers, ages 3 to 13, are divided into age-appropriate co-ed units, according to their ages as of June 1st. The youngest child must be at least three years old by June 1st. You may request that your child be placed with one special friend who must be the same age within a few months. Both children must request one another. Every effort is made to accommodate your request, but this is not always feasible and cannot be guaranteed. Your request must be in writing at the area specified on the Registration Form. Requested changes are subject to our guidelines and availability.

NOTE: Children must be completely toilet trained to be accepted to camp.

UNIT PLACEMENT: you will be notified of your child's assigned unit after June 1st.

Unit Staffing

The staff for each unit consists of: a Unit Leader who is frequently a veteran staff member, often a certified teacher; Senior Counselor(s), age 17 and older, often college students; and Assistant Counselor(s), age 15 and older. We maintain a low camper to staff ratio in all groups. The staff members do not leave the children in their unit unattended at any time during the day.
